If I could live in any building in New York City it might just be the Osborne. We've seen a couple of different gorgeous apartments in this building and here is another one. The Osborne is a rusticated Romanesque Revival and Italian Renaissance Palazzo-style building built in 1883. It has a historic Byzantine lobby with contributions by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, muralist John LaFarge, and Tiffany Studios. The listing states that the original plans for the building included "a porte-cochére, a billiard room, a florist, a resident doctor and druggist and on the roof, a lawn for playing croquet."

This apartment is a two-bedroom co-op that includes a double living room with the original wood and plaster and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lining the walls, The room is anchored by two wood burning fireplaces at either end of the room and the front wall has tall dramatic windows allowing sun to pour in through regular glass and upper stained glass panes, recreated and Landmark approved. From the living room, an oversized pocket door leads to the library, with another wood burning fireplace. Today's estate is one of the prettiest Wyoming properties we've ever had on this site. The Toutorsky Mansion has to be one of the most interesting properties in Washington D.C. It's a brick-and-limestone neo-Belgian mansion built in the 1890s for Supreme Court justice, Henry Billings Brown. Brown occupied the house until he died in 1913. The home later operated as the Persian Legation and then as the headquarters of the American Zionist Organization. After that it was bought by Basil and Maria Toutorsky and operated as the Toutorsky Academy of Music.In 1988 it was donated to the Peabody Conservatory of Music at The John Hopkins University but sold a few years later. Lately the 17,000 square-foot home has served as a bed and breakfast with five guest rooms. The mansion is full of beautiful carved wood griffins, crystal chandeliers, monumental fireplaces and stained glass details. It is now listed for sale for $5.75 million.

Russia's richest man Mikhail Prokhorov is going to court to try and get back the $55 million deposit he forfeited after backing out of a deal to buy the magnificent Villa Leopolda on the French Riviera for $750 million including the furnishings last year. The metals magnate signed a sales agreement for the Villa, and French law stipulates that purchasers lose their deposits if they pull out after such an agreement has been signed. The Villa's owner Lily Safra has said she is donating the deposit to charity. However, Prokhorov's lawyers are now arguing that that the agreement was rendered null and void due to two technical "anomalies", the London Telegraph reports.

Firstly, they say he should have been given the usual seven-day period in which to change his mind, which was denied as Prokhorov signed the agreement under a company name. Secondly, they argue that Safra's notary had "illicitly lumped the furniture price tag with the house price in a declaration to the French state", which they say was grounds for canceling the contract. Safra's lawyer Jean-Michel Darrois disputes Prokhorov's claims and said in a statement to the newspaper, "We have written proof that Mr Prokhorov, via his lawyers, continued to confirm his intention to buy the property well after the sale agreement." A verdict is due in March.

--Cher is auctioning off a property she never used at the Four Seasons' Hualalai resort in Hawaii. Concerige Auctions which is running the January 18 sale anticipates bids between $8 million and $12 million. Cher bought the 0.76-acre property in December 2004 for $2.9 million and began building the house last year.
--Also at the Hualalai resort, Kenneth Griffin, a major figure in the hedge-fund world, has paid $11.38 million for two adjacent lots overlooking the ocean.
--Palazzo Tornabuoni, a 15th-century palazzo in Florence that was home to a pope and other members of the Medici family has been converted into 38 apartments now offered for sale. Prices range from €1.06 million ($1.53 million) for a 530-square-foot one-bedroom to €5.1 million for a 1,987-square-foot two-bedroom apartment with a large terrace.

If you'd like to join Richard Gere in the New York inn business here's your chance. As Newsday's Real LI reports the Village Latch Inn in Southampton just went on the market for $24.75 million. One family has owned the five-acre property for decades. The complex includes a number of outbuildings-- Terry House, the Potting Shed, Homestead East and Homestead West among others, which were originally a part of the adjacent Merrill Lynch estate. The grounds are also home to a Victorian greenhouse, private villas, a pool, tennis courts and more.

According to the listing there are 67 uniquely decorated rooms, some with fireplaces, balconies or decks. It's a Hamptons plum partly because pre-existing zoning conditions allow for a variety of possibilities including future development. Or you could just keep it all to yourself and create your own family compound.

For Chicago Cubs players, homes near Wrigley Field make for a nice and easy commute. Cubs pitcher Ryan Demptster happens to own two of them which is why, as the Chicago Tribune reports, he is unloading one of them. He paid $1.715 million in early 2006 for the freshly built five-bedroom home but then paid $2.69 million in late 2008 for another newly-built house a few blocks away.

The first home, which is up for sale is a three-story brick and limestone residence with four fireplaces, a master suite with a spa bath, a gourmet kitchen with a butler's pantry, two-person sauna, media room and a penthouse party room on the top floor. The property also has two cedar decks, a hot tub and a garage. This home is listed at $2.25 million.

We first looked at this home over a year ago but Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez and his wife, October are trying again to sell their Manhattan Beach, California home. Last year the home was listed at $3.999 million but now it's on the market for $3.6 million and Gonzalez has sweetened the deal by adding a new Porsche 911 Cabriolet within 10 days of the close of escrow if he receives a full-price offer.

Gonzalez bought the four-bedroom home in 2003 for $1.575 million. He tells the LA Times that he gutted the house when he bought it and fully renovated. The home's best selling feature is a huge roof deck with a barbecue area, shaded lounger and a hot tub. The home is a couple blocks from the ocean and so the deck has some truly fantastic views. Inside the home there are two living rooms, dining room, a bar and a master bedroom suite with a fireplace and patio. There is a four-car garage, the home of your new Porsche.

It's always been my dream to live in a library. You can live my dream in the former Carnegie library in Rockport, Massachusetts. The former library, which originally opened in 1906, has new life as a stately, luxurious residence with water views. The building was sold to private buyers for around $500,000 a couple of years ago and has been renovated into a single-family home with three bedrooms, 3.5 bathroom and an underground garage.

It doesn't look like a usual house and when you step through the granite arched entrance you find the library's huge rotunda and marble floor. The home has large bay windows, massive wood columns, a chef's kitchen and a granite patio. The property was restored to the standards of the State Historical Commission and is listed on the National Register of Historic Homes. This unique residence is listed at $2.75 million.

The listing calls it the "most stunning renovation you have ever seen." I'm not sure I'd go quite that far but a four-bedroom loft in New York City belonging to David Tutera is certainly done up within an inch of its life. The Real Estalker reveals that the ultra-popular wedding planner who has a show called My Fair Wedding appears to have picked up this loft in 2007 for $4,312,500. Tutera has clearly put a team of decorators to work on the look of this home. It's a vivid one. The kitchen has red lacquered walls, the living room includes a gold leafed stone fireplace with golden walls and the media room has an Asian cabinet wet bar, Chinese lacquer details and a screen and speakers installed on an hydraulic lift. The most colorful room might just be the master bedroom. It features a variety of colorful purple patterns including a glittery mosaic-look lavender and silver ceiling and a cushy eggplant couch.
